Went in at 6 PM to buy a Christmas tree, left at 7:15 with no tree. Staff ignored us completely even though the store was nearly empty. "Customer service" desk was rude and useless. Manager on duty Joe needs to learn how to manage his staff, or maybe find another job. I will not be spending any money at Lowe's in the future.
The installers (Thomas Gleason and Sons) are fantastic too and did a great job. They get 5 stars too.
The Lowe's processes for coordinating install is a disaster, dozens of people involved from half a dozen places.
Went in to match a price of a saw that had been lowered substantially a week after purchase. I called the location and explained that I did not have my receipt but was told they could look it up in their system using my credit card. I stood in line for nearly 30 minutes while customer service attempted to locate. After not being able to find it in their system I was told they couldn't do anything for me. I showed the credit card statement of the purchase to confirm the purchasing date along with my credit card information. I proceeded to call their corporate office where they located it in less than 10 minutes but now I have to go back to Lowes Macedon AGAIN. Needless to say, the customer service reps at this location are absolutely clueless and do not ask for help when they need to. I will not return to Lowes after this incident.
The place is filthy... Outside more-so then the inside. Broken pieces of wood everywhere, trash EVERYWHERE, nails, stones; etc. If I didn't mind filth, I'd live in the city.... Going to Home Depot!
But the Lowes paperwork, PROCESSES and bureaucracy from order to install is a joke and gets 1 star because zero isn't possible. Overall a 3 because Greg and Gleason and product was fine but all in between a nightmare.
Greg in flooring is phenomenal. He is 5 STAR or more He knows his stuff, isn't pushy and puts up with all the Lowe's bureaucracy to get things done.
This review only pertains to the paint department. Most everyone else at the customer service department were helpful and kind. I went to the paint department and no one was there, so a lady at the register kindly called someone over. I waited patiently looking around the register area. An older gentleman walks over in a baseball cap and I smile at him ready to ask my question only to be greeted by a rude and frustrated sigh and grunt. With a distained look the man asked "what do you need?" I said asked for the paint type and he says "I don't know what you're talking about. What do you want?" I explained paint that glows in the dark or is fluorescent because I've seen them being used in construction for roads. He says, "Just look in the middle aisle... That's all the masonary paint". I thanked him after I realized he didn't want to assist me and eventually found what I needed on my own. What got me mad was his willingness or slightly better behaviour to the gentleman that approached him after. It seems like the people in the paint department hate their job because if ridiculously hard it is to have to answer a question. The woman in customer service at first was confused when I asked her about the porcelain light base that I was looking for but instead of getting frustrated she thought about my request and we figured out the name of the part and she kindly pointed me towards the aisle.
